I made a billion icons of Nicole Muñoz the other night, which gave me time to think about Rosy and now I have thoughts as I ~settle in~ to her character:
I’ve started calling her Rosy the Ribbonfraud, because she is totally a Coppertale at heart. She’s kind of a little too deadpan and cynical to be as cute and fluffy and adorable as, like, Kurt or Gabi, and she knows it, but she wants to try and be like them. Like, “Why can’t I be an unquenchable ray of sunshine? Why can’t I read an article about horses learning symbols and see a WORLD OF WONDERFUL POSSIBILITIES??”
I’m p sure she sees herself as the Ribbonfin Mom, but she’s really more like the Ribbonfin Aunt That Drinks Too Much at the Holidays. She wants to be the one rounding up all her little babybirds fishies and saving them from the Big Mean Bullies (except Calvin apparently, sorry dear but you’re stuck in the blind spot that is her twin brother), but she’s just going to end up teaching them don’t trust anyone, learn to fend for yourselves, I can’t do everything for you.
But hey maybe some of these Ribbonfin bbs needs a girl like her to teach them how to be jaded and skeptical and world-weary at 16. Hello children, gather ‘round the campfire, time for a spooky story about glass ceilings and wage gaps and about how the meek shall not inherit the earth. Or how about this one, in which parental love is not guaranteed or unconditional and one day you are going to have to make a really shitty decision in which there are no winners and nothing is fair. (I don’t think Rosy’s allowed to tell stories at the campfire anymore.) I also think she has kind of a snide side that likes seeing people afraid or resistant to things she's not scared of because DAMMIT I'M THE BRAVEST AND MOST BADASS OF ALL, so she might enjoy this campfire in the slightly wrong way lol oh well.
This makes me think she’d be friends with the Coppertale girls just on temperament alone, but lol we have like no Coppertale junior girls. GET ON IT ANYONE WHO HASN’T CHECKED OUT![[insanejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/ij-userinfo.gif)
